Becoming a Food for Thought partner is easy. Just let us know you are interested in being an active supporter – be it by volunteering/advocating for the program, donating much-needed foods and in-kind services or contributing dollars to help feed the children.
Just think! You can feed a child each weekend for the entire school year for $190.
When you provide financial support to Food for Thought, your dollars go directly to feeding the children.
Each weekend bag costs about $5.00 to provide two breakfasts, two lunches and snacks. That is approximately $114,000 for the 2014-2015 school year.
Here are some ways to donate tax-deductible funds:

The Fondy Food Pantry and the children thank you!
“Feedback received from school administrators, parents and participating children is positive, and ChegwinElementary School was so appreciative of piloting the Food for Thought Program during the spring of 2011. Through the resources from the Fondy Food Pantry, 50 elementary students, grades K-5 were served. The partnership with the Food Pantry provided weekly supplementary food for the weekend for our students. The program was implemented with ease, and the students and families were so appreciative. The Fondy Food Pantry selected kid-friendly, nutritious food items that students were able to access independently. We are so happy our students do not have to worry if they will not have enough food over the weekend," shared Teri Loehr, Principal of Chegwin Elementary School, and Marian Sheridan, Health and Safety Coordinator.
In the future we will be able to provide data that evaluates a full year of participating students and shows success, both educationally and for well-being.
